CASINO CABARET is a group exhibition, live Cabaret and private poker tournament that will take place at Safe Gallery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Invited artists will wager and play for original works in winner take all rounds of Texas Hold’ Em. The winner of each round of poker will walk away with a new art collection. In the final round, one lucky winner will select a single work from each newly formed collection and leave the tournament with a mega-collection formed through skill, wit & chance.

During the week prior to the tournament, a group exhibition of the wagered art will be on view at the gallery. Please join us for the reception on Friday, February 19, 2016 from 6-8. The live Cabaret will begin at 8PM Sharp.

The Cabaret will feature performances by Michael Mahalchick, Tyson Reeder as Cold Steel, R.A.F. on his white Baldwin, illusions and magic by Ross Moreno. Jennifer Sullivan will do a stand-up comedy routine that combines a critical analysis of “boyfriend” jeans with a karaoke cover of a Justin Bieber song. And finally, fresh from their residency at the Ikea Foundation for contemporary Fuunniwerds, Young Sherlock Holms and the Court Stenographer will draw on 20 years of calendars, mostly with sharpie but also the desktop mountie police, and perform with a 50 year old rabbit that belonged to Salvador Dali.
